How to request deletion
To request deletion of your SURP account and associated personal information, email support@surp.com.au from the email address used for your SURP account.
- Subject line: Delete my SURP account
- Include: your full name and the email/phone number linked to your SURP account
- If you have multiple accounts, list all emails you want deleted
What will be deleted
Once we verify your request, we will delete or anonymize personal information that is no longer needed to provide the service. This typically includes:
- Your profile details (display name, profile photo, suburb/city/state, and optional fields)
- Your login identity (email/phone sign-in identifiers) after account closure
- Non-essential app data that is not required for legal compliance
What may be retained (and why)
Some information may be retained where required for legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or enforcement of Terms. This can include:
- Transaction and accounting records (bookings, payments, refunds, fees, and audit trails)
- Dispute and support records (including messages and evidence relevant to disputes/chargebacks)
- SERR tax reporting data for Australian hosts (retained for at least 5 years as required by law)
- Handover media (photos/videos captured at pickup/return) retained for dispute evidence and legal compliance
Timing
We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days, unless additional time is required to comply with legal obligations or resolve active disputes.
